Picked up the new van which is a 2024 Ram Promaster 159 extended. This build used extruded aluminum bought from Tnutz mainly with some parts from 8020. Decided to go this way for the strength and lighter weight, and while I do like the end product I will be doing a wood build again in the future.
Coated all the interior with Lizard Skin ceramic insulation. This was a bit of a process, but hoping it helps in the long run.
With this build I decided to swivel both seats using Scopema swivels. The installation went very smoothly and have been happy with them so far.
I don't think I really needed these but at the time was thinking of points where I knew a good deal of weight was going to rest.
Using fomular for the floors worked well with the last build and decided to use it again this time around. The floors will still get cold in cooler tempatures but have to blieve it is better than nothing.
The wiring you see here I removed. I would not suggest running through the floor. I ended up running a channel under the bed to allow for easy access and future wiring needs.
Made a preliminary plan of where everything was going to be to make sure I could fit everything I want and keep a wide isle way. The isle way was the main focus here as the last build felt a bit cramped at times.
The final galley layout changed a bit with removing the internal grey tank and going with an RV stye external tank.
Went with Havelock wool again as I loved the insulation of the last van, but I did use some Thinsulate in places I wanted easy access to in the future and above the cab.
The design of the garage hanged a bit with putting the hot water heater in. It was initially going to be above the water tank but decided on giving more head room over the bed this time around.
Going with a fixed bed in the back again and used vinyl shiplap for the head and footboard that was painted with some seafoam and wiped off to create a sort of white wash effect. The bed will be a Full size Purple mattress that I am carrying over form the previous build.
Added a roof rack from FVC, with a maxxair fan in the front and a 12v aircondition in the back. Also added a small maxxair vent fan right behind the airconditioner. 400 watt soloar panel, and juction box to bring all the cables in. There was a debate if we should add an awning and decided to go with a Fiamma awning that monted to the side of the roof rack.
Security was a bigger concern with this build and decided to go with Thunderbolt locks again, set up external camera around the van, and added some exterior lighting to both sides of the van.
