This page is still under construction I will be adding information about the build in the near future.
I was gong to test drive a different but when I arrived the dealer said somebody just bought it but we have a red one. I wasn't really interested in a red van but still wanted to go for a test drive. Once I got behind the wheel I knew I was leaving with it, everything just felt right. Couldn't get the name Talyn out of my head and knew it had to be his name.
I started the process a few days after buying the van and I wouldn't advise starting build during the winter. The need for this is to reduce the vibration and cut down on the noise when driving, and it did make a huge difference.
*Edit*
How I did the floor originally was a mistake, everything I used I ended up tearing out during the remodel and doing differently. I will direct you to the remodel page for specifics.
This was the first hole I cut into the van and was pretty nervous about it. I ended up using a jig saw and put a fan in the front and back. This process took me a bit longer than I thought it would and finished the process with a headlamp on while putting the Dicor around for waterproofing.
I love how the ceiling turned out! I started with cedar tung and grove and burned them all. After the burning I took a wire brush to the boards to get all the loose ash and char from the boards leaving a nice finish. The last step was to take a damp rag and wipe each board down until I was not getting any residue on the rag. This process did take two days and had them installed on the third.
I put the shower in and ended up using it as a spot for the toilet. Since I had to get on the road I picked up some drawer from Ikea that worked great. In the picture to the left you can see everything is not finished, but ended up putting peal and stick tile for a backsplash, used the kind that actually feels like tile and did this over the first couple of weeks on the road.
